GeoBee Delights Middle School

A recent Middle School assembly was devoted to the school GeoBee. One of the most popular assemblies of the year, the GeoBee included participants from grades 5-8, with three boys representing each grade. The participants were quizzed on topics both domestic and international, including a set of questions related to reading a map of the United States for information on rivers, mountain ranges, and cities. The group of 12 students eventually was whittled down to two eighth grade boys, Divij Jain ’21 and Austin Szatrowski  ’21, both of whom had participated in the GeoBee assembly in years’  past.  The winner was Divij Jain, who will take a written test created by the National Geographic Society. If he scores in the top 100 in New York State, he will move on to the state competition in Albany.
