Collegiate School depends on, and is most appreciative of, the generosity and loyalty of our alumni, parents, parents of alumni, grandparents, faculty, and staff to continue the tradition of excellence and independent thinking at our school. We are profoundly grateful for the gifts of time, talent, and resources given by so many in our community; these individuals provide vital resources to our faculty, students, and the many programs Collegiate offers to the young men of the student body. Collegiate School is a 501c3 not for profit corporation.
There are a number of ways to offer your support:
Annual FundEach fall, we launch the Annual Fund, an appeal to the entire Collegiate community for contributions that supplement the School’s yearly operating budget. The Annual Fund supports faculty salaries and financial assistance, as well as provides funds for programmatic needs such as athletic uniforms and teaching supplies. Tuition covers only a part of the cost of educating each boy at Collegiate; endowment income and unrestricted Annual Fund support make up the difference. This year’s gap of nearly $9,000 per student between tuition revenue and the actual cost of educating each student highlights the importance of the Annual Fund. The generosity of the Collegiate community enabled us to raise almost $3.7 million last year—exceeding our dollar goal for 2015-2016—with gifts ranging from $5 to $50,000. Furthermore, we are thrilled to report that family participation this past year reached 98%. A contribution of any amount is greatly appreciated and is an expression of support for the ongoing work of the School. The 2016-2017 Annual Fund begins in the Fall of 2016 and closes on June 30, 2017. Gifts must be received by June 30, 2017 to realize credit for the 2016-2017 Annual Fund. Senior Class GiftFor several decades, senior class families have generously funded a Senior Class Gift in recognition of their sons’ Collegiate experience. Each year, families of the graduating class are asked to contribute to the Senior Class Gift. The Senior Class Gift effort supports a specific purpose that honors the graduates while also creating a meaningful, long-lasting legacy from the graduating class to the School. While senior families are not solicited for the Annual Fund, all contributions to the Senior Gift will be credited to the 2016-2017 Annual Fund for participation purposes. Scholarship BenefitEach spring, the School, in conjunction with the Parents Association, holds a Scholarship Benefit. All of the funds raised by this event directly support the financial aid program, allowing Collegiate to remain accessible to families regardless of their socio-economic status. Last year, Collegiate raised over $470,000 for financial aid through ticket sales (ticket prices start at $200) and underwriting donations (ranging from $2,500 to $25,000). This event displays the warmth and vitality of Collegiate by bringing together various members of the community, including parents, past parents, and alumni. For further information, please contact

The Wilson Parkhill Society - Planned GivingThose in the Collegiate community who have remembered the School when making testamentary arrangements become members of The Wilson Parkhill Society. Headmaster of Collegiate from 1934 to 1959, Wilson Parkhill was crucial to the School’s survival during very rough economic times and war; he steered Collegiate on a steady course through the turbulent times. Including Collegiate in your estate planning helps to make the School’s future and the perpetuation of its ideals more certain. For further information, please contact

Endowed FundsA gift to Collegiate’s endowment is a gift in perpetuity. Your gift will be invested in Collegiate’s endowment, adding to its principal, and the income generated will be directed toward the donor’s designated purpose. Collegiate’s endowed funds currently support financial aid, faculty salaries, named lecture series, and faculty professional development; income from our endowment is also used for program support. In addition, some donors to Collegiate’s endowment have given unrestricted funds, indicating that income may be used for whatever purpose is most pressing. For further information, please contact

Capital Giving Finally, throughout our nearly 400-year history, Collegiate School has appreciated the generosity of the community as it has expanded and enhanced the facilities and grown the endowment. Today, all Collegiate families benefit from the philanthropy of those who came before them. As we plan with great excitement and anticipation for the School’s new home on Freedom Place South, we are hopeful that families across the Collegiate community will join together to support this significant undertaking that will transform our school and provide a wonderful new home for Collegiate. We are heartened by the early generosity of many families in our campaign for facilities and look forward to reaching out to all members of the Collegiate community to discuss their participation.
