Parents of Alumni
The mission of the Parents of Alumni Council, the governing body of the Parents of Alumni Association of Collegiate School, is to maintain and foster the bonds that connect former parents to the life of the School. Based on the sense of community that parents shared with fellow parents and with faculty during their sons’ student years at Collegiate, the Council provides a venue for parents of alumni to continue to feel part of the ongoing activities of the School community. Parents of alumni are valuable resources of professional achievement, business expertise, artistic talent, and insightful perspectives. Through active involvement with the School, parents of alumni can contribute in significant ways to the lives of Collegiate alumni and current students.

Collegiate’s Parents of Alumni Council was established in 1994–95 by Sheila Johnson Robbins and Carol Kosann. Currently there are 67 members representing classes from 1972 to 2016. The Council meets two times a year and plans activities and events for all parents of alumni. The Council has sponsored an alumni art exhibition (1997), receptions to welcome new Headmasters, an archival exhibition during the school’s 375th anniversary (2003), a lecture on modern art (2005), and symposia on such topics as "New York City—Today and Tomorrow" (2008); "American Foreign Policy: Challenges and Opportunities" (2010); and "Media: Today and Tomorrow" (2013). For the past several years, the Council has organized a well-attended reception at Collegiate for all alumni parents.
